of leadership challenges for the field at large, museums, and
museum professionals including recommendations for the future.
Publications
in Development

The
second edition of Reinventing the Museum: The
Evolving Conversation on the Paradigm Shift will
be published in February 2012. The
book offers 44 seminal articles representing the changing perspectives
about the role of museums in contempora ry times. The book includes
iconic pieces from the 20th century and presents the latest thinking
of the past decade.
- A
Museum Trustee Toolkit featuring numerous
practical tools for trustees is under development by Anderson
with assistance from Jeanette Woodburn, Development Director for
the Stern Grove Festival in San Francisco. The publication features
examples of forms and resources from numerous sources to create
a single reference for trustees in support of the ongoing demands
of governance in museums. The publisher and press dates are pending.
- Anderson
is currently working on another book, A Framework
for Revitalizing Museums with AltaMira Press. This
publication will feature an approach for assessing museum relevancy
and effectiveness illustrated by case studies of innovative strategies
implemented by contemporary museums.
